How to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes - lessons from current practice

Date & Venue TBC

1.30-4.30pm (Registration from 1.00pm)

Cost: £75 + VAT (£86.25 in total)

Building Regulations are changing to require all new homes to meet the CO2 reduction target for Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes next year with a timetable of tougher targets over coming years. An increasing number of local authorities are requiring new homes to achieve certain Code levels through planning policy. Government funded social housing already has to meet at least Code Level 3 in full & this is expected to increase in the near future.

An understanding of the Code & how it can be achieved is vital if you are involved in delivering new housing.

This half day seminar will provide practical & timely information on how to meet the Code which you can take away & apply to your own projects.

The seminar will:

  • Show how to meet different levels of the Code based on the experience of the developer of one of the first Code Level 5 developments in the country.
  • Look at the design strategy, construction methods, materials, technologies & costs of meeting the Code.
  • Provide a detailed look at the Code & its various parts by a Code assessor.
  • Set out the policy requirements regarding the Code both now & in the future.

The seminar is organised by the DSBI & Ecos Trust.
